Don’t let a Lack of Coding Experience Hold You Back.
Part One can be completed in just a few minutes and requires no coding experience. If you'd like to build your skills before tackling Part Two, our free Intro to Python course can help you strengthen your foundation and gain confidence before moving forward. Learn Python fundamentals, practice problem-solving techniques, and prepare for the application process at your own pace.

Why We Have An Application Process
Our application process isn't designed to identify experienced developers—it's designed to help prospective students understand what's expected, prepare for the learning journey ahead, and demonstrate their motivation to succeed. By taking the time to learn about each applicant, we can better support students throughout the program and help ensure they're prepared for the challenges and opportunities they'll encounter along the way. That foundation contributes to the strong learning experiences and career outcomes many Code Platoon graduates achieve after completing the program.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Code Platoon application work?
Our application has two parts that help us get to know you and your coding skills.

Do I need coding experience to complete my Code Platoon application?
You’ll need to have a basic understanding of Python or JavaScript to complete your application. If you’re new to coding, we recommend starting with our Intro to Python course, which covers Python fundamentals and algorithmic problem-solving to help you get started.
